Opened in 1946 as the Park Theatre, this 800-seat single-screen became Gardena Cinema in 1995 under the Kim family, South Korean immigrants who purchased it in 1976. Now the last single-screen theater in the South Bay, it operates as a nonprofit, keeping ticket prices affordable for four generations of moviegoers in this diverse neighborhood.
