The Lido Theater

3459 Via Lido, Newport Beach, CA 92663, USA

Designed by theater architect Clifford A. Balch and opened in 1939, this Art Deco jewel in Newport Beach's Via Lido features a 45-foot tower, marine-themed Catalina tile murals, and a hand-painted ceiling. Bette Davis, then a local resident, requested a sitting parlor in the ladies' room—now the Bette Davis Lounge. Recently restored to its original splendor after a four-year renovation.
