Born in 1985 as a 800-title Santa Monica video store founded by Patty Polinger and Cathy Tauber, Vidiots grew to 50,000 titles before streaming forced its closure in 2017. Reborn in 2022 at the restored 1929 Eagle Theatre in Eagle Rock, it now features a 271-seat cinema with 35mm projection, the MUBI Microcinema, and yes—a video rental library with tens of thousands of titles.
