A 1926 atmospheric marvel, Tampa Theatre transports visitors to a Mediterranean courtyard under a ceiling of twinkling stars. Rescued from demolition by passionate citizens in 1973, this nonprofit landmark now hosts nearly 1,000 events yearly in its ornate 1,238-seat auditorium and intimate 43-seat screening room—from indie premieres to silent films with live organ accompaniment.
