Built in 1939 as The Comerford, this was Carlisle's grandest movie palace and the town's first air-conditioned building. After closing in 1986, a citizens' group purchased and restored the theater to its Art Deco "streamlined moderne" brilliance, reopening in 1993. Today the single-screen venue hosts films, concerts, and live musical theater productions.
