Capri Theatre

Alabama's longest continuously operating movie theater opened as the Clover Theatre in 1941 and became the Capri in 1962. When it was raided and closed as a softcore porn venue in 1982, neighbors formed the Capri Community Film Society to save their cherished theater. After purchasing the building in 2010 and completing a major renovation for its 75th anniversary, this nonprofit continues screening its eclectic blend of independent, foreign, and classic films.
