Tim and Karrie League launched the dine-in cinema revolution here in 1997, building a cult following with their strict no-talking policy, signature programming like Terror Tuesday and Master Pancake Theater, and servers delivering craft food and cocktails in the dark. The original Drafthouse became a national chain, but Austin remains its spiritual home.
